Carnegie Shortlisting!

The short-list for the CLIP Carnegie Prize was announced on March 27th – and ‘Trash’ was on it, one of eight children’s books. Alas, Andy was pipped to the post. ‘It was an honour, nonetheless,’ says Andy. ‘The CLIP Carnegie is serious, and to have made it to the final eight is a prize in itself, especially as the judges are principally specialist librarians, immersed in children’s literature...

When you look at the names of those who have won it in the past, it’s almost a ‘Who’s Who’ of great children’s writers.’ Could ‘The Boy With Two Heads’ be a contender next year? ‘I don’t know,’ says Andy. ‘I don’t know what the criteria are – but I like to think that ‘2Heads’ is a meaty, challenging text.’
